Glenmachrie Guesthouse, Isle of Islay

Glenmachrie House is a traditional farmhouse built in 1898 and surrounded by 450 acres of green fields, loch, river and heather clad moorland. Glenmachrie lies four miles north of southern ferry port of Port Ellen and six miles south of the island's capital, Bowmore, and is an ideal setting for a memorable hebridean holiday or for that very special occasion.

As you enjoy your welcoming afternoon tea you will be enthralled with the uninterrupted views of Laggan Bay and over the sea to the coast of Ireland. Guests will be pleased to note that there is ample free parking spaces at the side of the house and secure storage for cycles is also available on request.

Glenmachrie is within easy walking distance of the Big Strand (miles and miles of golden, sandy beach backed by dunes) and for the golfing fraternity we are only one mile away from the internationally known Machrie Golf Links.

Glenmachrie House has four elegant king and twin bedrooms, each with beautiful views. All bedrooms combine modern and traditional facilities to provide guests with luxury, comfort and service. Each room has en-suite facilities of shower, WC and wash hand basin, television, hair-dryer, full hospitality tray, iron and ironing board. Throughout Glenmachrie House guests enjoy free 24 hour WiFi. Dogs welcome strictly by prior arrangement.
